How to Manage Order Messages in PrestaShop

Communication with your customers and vice versa is very crucial for success of any eCommerce store. As you may need to send messages to your customers regarding the order. In PrestaShop you can easily send messages to customers from messages section in the order details page.

The message you enter in the provided text box is automatically sent to the email address of the customer. Even customers can also send you order messages from their account page on PrestaShop frontend. They can do so from the order details page on the PrestaShop frontend. You can view the customer messages in PrestaShop admin by navigating to Customer Service -> Customer Service, also you can respond to their messages.

Sending messages to customer from order details page in PrestaShop admin is very easy. You can either type the message text area or choose predefined messages that you have already added and send it to customer. You can configure as many as predefined order messages in PrestaShop. In this tutorial, we will learn about managing PrestaShop predefined order messages. Add Order Messages

To add a new predefined order message, navigate to Customer Service -> Order Messages and click on Add new order message on the top right of the page.

There are only couple of options to configure as follows:

  • Name – This is simply the name of the message used for the reference only. It is not shown or emailed to the customer. So enter any relevant name for the predefined message that you want to configure.
  • Message – Enter the actual predefined message in the text box that will be sent to the customer when this predefined messages is selected from order details page to send message to customers.

After you have done with both the options, click on Save button to save the predefined message.

 

Edit Predefined Order Messages

To edit any predefined order messages, navigate to Customer Service -> Order Messages and click on the Edit button for the particular order message that you want to edit.

This is open a page with the form to edit the selected predefined order message. The options to edit the order message are same as adding new order message. Its contains two options to configure Name and Message. Make the desired changes and click on Save button to save the changes.

 

Delete Predefined Order Messages

To delete any predefined order messages, navigate to Customer Service -> Order Messages in the PrestaShop admin and click on the arrow next to the Edit button  and select Delete from the drop-down that appears for the particular order message that you want to delete.

A window will popup asking you to confirm your delete action, if you really want to delete the order message click OK or else click Cancel.

You can even delete more than one order message at a time by using bulk actions. To do this select the order messages from the list by checking the check boxes for each one you want to delete. After this select Delete Selected from the Bulk actions drop-down below the list of order messages.

A window will popup asking you to confirm your delete action, if you really want to delete the order message click OK or else click Cancel.
